Dr. Rebecca Todd
Research Focus
My research focus is on emotion/cognition interactions, and their neural correlates, as they develop over the lifespan. My doctoral research focused on age-related changes in neural responses to emotionally salient stimuli, such as emotionally expressive and personally familiar faces, and the influence of emotional processing on cognitive control in childhood. My current research draws on psychophysical, genetic profiling, and neuroimaging methods to investigate:
- the influence of emotion on the subjective experience of perceptual and mnemonic vividness
- the influence of trauma on attention and perception
- the influence of emotional arousal on post-encoding memory consolidation processes
- genetic and neural signatures of individual differences in emotional memory vividness
