This presentation illustrates how the daily activity of discharge planning is filled with many ethical issues having a significant impact on our patients, their families, ourselves as staff and the institutions in which we work. The presentation provides an overview of the ethical issues in discharge planning, a simple case study to highlight the ethical issues and concludes with a discussion about how discharge planning impacts staff and the moral distress which is felt.
