Educational Goals & Objectives
By the end of this session participants will:

• Understand the purpose of the guidelines, how they were developed, current diagnostics and classifications of diabetes
• Increase their knowledge regarding targets for glycemic control, prevention and the latest in the approach to managing diabetes in the older adult
• Understand how self-management education is an effective method to manage diabetes, the principles of nutrition therapy and the role of complementary and alternative medicine.
