Ms. Semel is an award winning Israeli author, whose novel “And the Rat Laughed” deals with the act of remembering the horrific events of the Holocaust and the transfer of memory from one generation to another.
Ms. Semel will discuss the influence of Holocaust memories on survivors and their descendents, focusing on the transfer of emotional memory, on the need to forget in order to survive, and on the need to remember, nonetheless.
