An Endowed Chair in Gerontological Nursing has been established at the University of Toronto and the Rotman Research Institute, Baycrest, Canada's premier academic health science centre focused on ageing. The start date is January 1, 2013.
The Katz Nursing Chair will develop a new and innovative program of research in gerontological nursing spanning the University of Toronto’s Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing and Baycrest – a fully affiliated teaching hospital of the University of Toronto. The joint Chair allows for a true integration across research, education and practice, at the BScN, Masters, PhD and PDF levels, and supports the continuing education and development of gerontological nurses and allied health professionals at Baycrest. The aim is to create an environment for continued and future excellence in gerontological nursing that embraces inter-professional care.
