15 things we learned about MCI

Monday, April 2, 2012

During the 2012 conference closing remarks, Dr. Nicole Anderson, conference co-chair, shared a list of 15 things attendees learned about Mild Cognitive Impairment. Here are the top three:

  1. Whereas old criteria were trichotomous (normal, MCI, AD), new criteria for MCI meant to identify level of risk of developing AD
  2. Biomarkers are extremely important for our understanding of dementia (research), but whether or not they should be in clinical use today is hotly debated!
  3. Combinations of biomarkers will likely prove more useful than any single biomarker
