During the 2012 conference closing remarks, Dr. Nicole Anderson, conference co-chair, shared a list of 15 things attendees learned about Mild Cognitive Impairment. Here are the top three:
- Whereas old criteria were trichotomous (normal, MCI, AD), new criteria for MCI meant to identify level of risk of developing AD
- Biomarkers are extremely important for our understanding of dementia (research), but whether or not they should be in clinical use today is hotly debated!
- Combinations of biomarkers will likely prove more useful than any single biomarker
