The Baycrest Advanced Geriatric Life Support (BAGLS) Program includes a Survival Manual and Scenario-Based Training Course. The Survival Manual serves as a handy reference, and is designed to assist physicians in the management of common acute, chronic, and palliative presentations in elderly patients. The material presented in the manual has been gathered from leading evidence-based sources in clinical care and is presented in an accessible and easy-to-follow manner useful for all health care professionals involved in geriatric care. The Scenario-Based Training Course was initially developed for Family Medicine Residents on their geriatric rotation at Baycrest, and is currently being extended to all staff physicians and interdisciplinary health professionals involved in geriatric care. The BAGLS Survival Manual and Scenario-Based Training Course will also be available online for health care professionals at other geriatric facilities.
